Sandshore Science Fair
March 2, 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The Sandshore Home and School Partnership (SHSP) is proud to offer your child the opportunity to be a part of the 9th Annual Sandshore School Science Fair! The science fair is open to students of Sandshore School from grades K-5. The Science Fair will be held in the Sandshore School gym on Saturday, March 2nd, at 9 AM with a drop off and mandatory check-in Friday, March 1st, from 7-8:30PM. All rules and guidelines will be posted on the SHSP website under the Science Fair Section.  No more than two students per team are permitted and they MUST be from the same grade level. There will be no electricity provided the day of the fair. Parents will be asked to step into the cafeteria as their scientists are explaining their experiment to the judges. Of the total winners from all grade levels, ten projects will be chosen to attend the District Science Fair on March 9th in the Marurarder Dome.

This year we are also offering digital registration. This will ensure your registration information gets directly to the Science Fair team of volunteers directly and will also help eliminate misspellings and omitted registration information. You may use the Google link:

We would like to invite you to work along with your child as he or she selects, investigates, and reports on an appropriate area of science. With your interest and encouragement, your son or daughter can develop the skills and attitudes he or she needs to make this project a valuable experience. All work will be done at home by the student. Parents are encouraged to offer emotional support and reminders, but to allow the children to do the projects by themselves. The project topics and experiments should be age appropriate and chosen by the student.

Please make sure your child’s project receives approval from the Science Fair Committee before starting any work. Email with any questions. Let's work together so that our science fair will be a memorable and pleasant experience for your student.
